The Founders
Tom Carroll | Co-Founder and CEO: As the Chief Executive Officer at Local Mojo, Mr. Carroll is busy bringing an exciting, scalable, online, marketing and advertising technology to market: The Local Mojo Complete Web Advertising System (CWAS). Mr. Carroll and Mr. Hughes joined forces three years ago to build this unique system. The idea was simple--help small businesses migrate from traditional off-line advertising to high tech marketing on the Internet. With Local Mojo now out of beta testing and fully deployed, Mr. Carroll is working to develop a direct sales force and is making strategic alliances in order to rapidly give every business in America a chance to get their Mojo back with the help of Local Mojo.
Mr. Carroll has held a number of corporate posts. As Vice President of Strategic Channel Development at Naviant, Mr. Carroll negotiated relationships with Young & Rubicam; Vertis; and Convergys. Mr. Carroll worked in Advertising Agencies for twenty years spending time at NW Ayer on the Army account; Foote, Cone & Belding with responsibilities for AT&T, Citibank, and Brown-Foreman. At Saatchi and Saatchi Business Communications, Mr. Carroll was a Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer with worldwide accounts Kodak, Dupont and Alcatel.
Mark Hughes | Co-Founder and Chief Strategist:At Local Mojo, Mr. Hughes is primarily responsible for the development and direction of Local Mojo's core technology offering as it relates to design, function, and features. He designed Local Mojo from the ground up to help small businesses develop a powerful, easy to manage, online presence; a stunning byproduct is Local Mojo’s ability to help any business, large or small, manage multiple locations online. In fact, Mr. Hughes and Mr. Carroll have filed a patent covering their unique local search processes and technologies.
Mr. Hughes is a serial entrepreneur and business builder. His accomplishments over the years include the invention of the remote car starter and the invention of a unique online directory listing product currently serving over 16,000 customers. He was also personally responsible for over $48 million in sales at Excel Communications and was a Senior Vice President at Sony when his division was sold to Microsoft for $460 million spawning WebTV.
