Welcome to Quality Performance Rehabilitation!

Quality Performance Rehabilitation, Inc is a privately owned outpatient physical therapy company located in Saint Lucie County, Florida. Quality Performance Rehabilitation was established in 2001 and is owned and operated by licensed physical therapists. It is the mission of Quality Performance Rehabilitation to become a dominant provider of physical therapy services on the Treasure Coast of Florida. Treatment will always be driven by positive patient outcomes with a high focus on patient satisfaction.    

 

 

What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapists are healthcare professionals who maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and health enabling an individual to have optimal functioning and quality of life, while ensuring patient safety and applying evidence to provide efficient and effective care.1Physical therapists are educated and licensed to evaluate and treat individuals of all ages who experience a wide variety of conditions such as low back pain, neck pain, upper/lower extremity disorders, sports injuries, TMJ dysfunction, post-surgical treatment, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis, and stroke, Parkinson’s, and cancer rehab. Physical therapists focus on restoring impairments and improving function in order to restore quality of life.

The staff at Quality Performance Rehabilitation, Inc are qualified to evaluate and treat a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions including, but not limited to:

Addtional Services Include:

Work Conditioning Program - We offer a level two physical reconditioning program for workers compensation patients who require physical fitness training in a supervised setting in order to safely return to work. The program is 2-4 hours per visit with 2-3 visits per week and encompasses stretching, strengthening, cardiovascular conditioning, and specific occupational task training.  

 

Gym Program - Quality Performance Rehabilitation offers a supervised gym program for patients who have reached their physical therapy goals but who would like to continue working towards their physical fitness goals in a supervised and safe setting.

Quality Performance Rehabilitation

Thomas Fischer, PT, Owner - Thomas Fischer graduated in 1986 with an Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assisting  from Broward Community College and earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1989 from Florida International University. Mr. Fischer has practiced in both the outpatient and acute care settings since August 1986. In 2001 Mr. Fischer opened Quality Performance Rehabilitation, Inc with his business partner Patrick Neveux, PT, MSPT. Mr. Fischer is an entrepreneur at heart and began his career in private practice because of the increased autonomy and ability to provide high quality, outcome-based patient care. He is highly skilled in the evaluation and treatment of general orthopedic and neurological conditions, occupational physical therapy, and has obtained additional training in the evaluation and treatment of balance and vestibular disorders. Mr. Fischer is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Florida Physical Therapy Association. Mr. Fischer has served in various positions within the Florida Physical Therapy Association including Southeast District Chair from 1995-1997, and East Central District Regional Director from 2004-2008. Mr. Fischer served as a delegate to the American Physical Therapy Association House of Delegates from 1993-2000. He has been involved with the Special Olympics since 2004 and currently serves as the Florida Coordinator of FunFitness for Special Olympics. Mr. Fischer earned the Rick Shutes Committee Service Award from the Florida Physical Therapy Association for his hard work and dedication to Special Olympics. Tom enjoys sports, exercising, and spending time with his wife and three sons.

 

 

Patrick Neveux, PT, MSPT, Owner – Patrick Neveux graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education Training from East Tennessee State University. In 1986 he earned his Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from Broward Community College. In 1993 Mr. Neavux graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and continued on to earn a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 1994. Mr. Neavux has practiced in the outpatient and home health settings since 1986. In 1999 Mr. Neveux opened Quality Performance Physical Therapy which transitioned to Quality Performance Rehabilitation, Inc in 2001 when he partnered with Mr. Thomas Fischer, PT. His enthusiasm for treating a wide variety of conditions sparked Mr. Neveux’s interest in private practice as he felt he would have more opportunities to partner with the community and could provide physical therapy services to a wider patient population. He is highly skilled in the evaluation and treatment of general orthopedic and neurological conditions, sport-specific injuries and has obtained additional training in balance and vestibular disorders and ETPS Neuromechanical Therapy. Mr. Neveux is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Florida Physical Therapy Association. His areas of interest include orthopedics, and professional athletic sports health. Mr. Neveux has served as the President for the St. James Orthodox Council, and as a board member for Sarah’s Kitchen. Patrick enjoys tennis, fishing, boating, and helping others. 

 

 

Rochelle Mead, PT, MSPT, MDT- Rochelle Mead graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy degree from Texas Women’s University in 1999 and earned her McKenzie Certified Practitioner certificate - certified in Mechanical Diagnostics and Therapy (MDT) - in 2011. Mrs. Mead has practiced as a Physical Therapist in outpatient orthopedics since 1999 and is highly skilled in the evaluation and management of general orthopedic and neurological conditions. She has obtained additional training in the evaluation of balance and vestibular disorders, manual therapy, and TMJ dysfunction. Mrs. Mead is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Florida Physical Therapy Association, and the McKenzie Institute International. Her areas of interest include spinal dysfunction and manual therapy. Shellee enjoys camping, Disney and spending time with her family. 

 

 

Michelle Bowen, PT, DPT – Dr. Michelle Bowen graduated in 2011 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida in 2008. During physical therapy school Michelle worked as a rehab aide at Kinetix Physical Therapy, a private outpatient clinic, in Gainesville, FL and served as the Treasurer for the University of Florida Student Physical Therapy Association. Dr. Bowen is a member of the Florida Physical Therapy Association, and helped to organize the Florida Physical Therapy Association Student Conclave in 2011. She is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Her areas of interest include outpatient orthopedics and sports-related injuries. Michelle enjoys spending time with her friends and family, exercising, and going to the beach. 

 

 

Claudia Zarrate, Rehab Aide – Mrs. Zarrate graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Senora del Rosario in Bogota, Columbia. Mrs. Zarrate practiced as a licensed Physical Therapist in Columbia for 12 years before moving to Florida. Mrs. Zarrate earned her Advanced Technical Certificate in Manual Techniques in 2006, and has been working as a rehab aide in both the outpatient, and long term care settings since 2007. She is fluent in English and Spanish and has training in various areas including Alzheimer’s disease, resident rights, ergonomics, prosthetics/orthotics, mandibular dysfunction, and low back pain. Mrs. Zarrate is a member of the Columbian Association of Physical Therapy. Claudia enjoys yoga, culinary arts, and dancing. 

 

 

Robin Coburn – Mrs. Coburn graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from Mercer College and worked as a florist for several years, after which she followed in her parents footsteps and became a clockmaker. Mrs. Coburn and her husband owned and operated a retail store that sold music, movies and books. After her two children were grown, Mrs. Coburn worked at a Woman’s Shelter as an advocate for domestic and sexual assault victims. Upon moving to Florida Mrs. Coburn joined the team at Quality Performance Rehabilitation, Inc and currently serves as the billing secretary for our Prima Vista location. Mrs. Coburn volunteers weekly for the Port Saint Lucie City Police Community Patrol. Robin enjoys riding bikes, swimming and spending time with her husband, son, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.

 

 

Nichole Deater – Ms. Deater graduated from MedVance Institute in 2011 with a certification in Medical Coding and Billing. Ms. Deater worked for DEATER MECHANICAL as a receptionist prior to joining Quality Performance Rehabilitation, Inc in 2011 and currently serves as the billing secretary for our Goldtree location. Nicole enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, shopping, interior design and party planning. 

 

 

Doreen George – Mrs. George graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from Keiser College. Mrs. George worked in the administrative field for the Federal Government - Department of the Army - while her husband was serving in the United States Army. Mrs. George has worked in various law firms while raising her children. In 2011, Mrs. George joined the team at Quality Performance Rehabilitation, Inc and currently serves as the billing secretary for our Fort Pierce location. Doreen enjoys spending time with her family, shopping and decorating.

Special Olympics

  • Fort Lauderdale, FL
    • Nova Southeastern University hosted “A Day for Children” which provided families the opportunity to obtain health care information from a wide variety of healthcare practitioners. During this event, physical therapists and physical therapy/Physical therapy assistant students screened 25 athletes for strength, range of motion and cardiovascular endurance. Each athlete was provided information to help improve their physical fitness.

 

 

  • Orlando, FL 11/4/11 - 11/5/11
    • The 2011 Special Olympics Fall Games were held at the Disney Wide World of Sports and the Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando, FL. Aside from the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports such as gymnastics, weight lifting, and bowling, athletes had the opportunity to attend various health screenings through the Healthy Athletes initiative. Mr. Thomas Fischer, PT currently serves as the Florida coordinator for FunFitness – the physical therapy component of Healthy Athletes. This year, both Tom and Michelle helped to screen over 250 athletes! At the end of each screening, athletes received education regarding stretching, strengthening and cardiovascular activities to help improve their overall function and sports performance.
